Defibrillators recommended as a part of Diving Emergency Management Systems (Aust.)

The Queesnland Government Health and Safety Workplace web site is recommending that Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) be considered as a part of a comprehensive risk assessment process when undertaking recreational diving and snorkelling, with the goal of seeing more workplaces adopt AED technology as a part of ttheir emergency management systems.

AED's have been proven to increase the chances of patient survival when used approriately in a timely manner.  Training in their use and proximity to locations are obvious considerations when devision emergency plans.  They have been particularly useful in cases of electrical shock and drowning.
